Dear St. Louis Senior Olympic Athletes, Volunteers & Supporters,
I can't believe I am in my third year as Director of the St. Louis Senior Olympics. It's been great
being able to see the recent advances and new events. Last year more than 1,100 athletes and
200+ volunteers helped make the 33rd Annual Games a huge success. I look forward to another
year seeing so many familiar faces and meeting the "rookies" to our Games.
In 2013, the majority of our events will run Saturday – Monday over Memorial Day Weekend. Prior to the Games, on Sunday, April 7, we are hosting a new program – Senior Olympic Trial Day. This time is meant to assist our athletes, whether for rules clarifi cation, trying out a new event or just for a little extra practice. Additionally, it's a great opportunity to invite your friends and show them what the fun is all about.
Opening Ceremonies have been altered a little this year, as we are excited to offer (for a small fee) a Pool Party and BBQ for Senior Olympians and families. This social event will surely add to the normal camaraderie of the Games. I look forward to seeing all of you there.
